Cafe Pushkin Sounds like a tourist trap but no! The beef Stroganoff and the borscht are excellent. Very nice decor. Some will also enjoy the old-style bathroom! - June 2007

HK: Asian food, from sushis to dumplings, all very good, but beward of the outrageous prices - July 2007

Maharaja A very nice Indian restaurant in the heart of Moscow, if you are done with the borscht and the blinis… you will be very well served there. Check the very strong taste of the lassi, very close to the kefir, much appreciated by the Russians! - April 2007

Mi Piace: Not a fancy place, but a find restaurant when one is simply looking for a bit of greens and salads as an alternative to meat and more meat. Ask for a non-smoking seat if you don’t want to miss the taste of your food - July 2007

Noah’s Ark [A very nice decor for a cuisine that is quite interesting. It was my first Armenian restaurant and friends and I shared some veal in a broth, some nice rice mixed with caramelized prunes, apples and roasted almonds, as well as what we nicknamed “Gefilteveal” - some meat stoned to the point of having it mashed, with a bit of taste but not too much. Definitely a try, just for the fun of changing! - May 2007

Scandinavia: At last a nice terrasse in Moscow, without having to (directly) breathe the highly polluted air of the city. Scandinavia offers very nice food from the North, including the famous herring with sweet mustard, or gravelax salmon. Their cocktails are also excellent and the place is not pricey by Moscow standards - July 2007
